The astrology of attraction (Libra through Pisces)
Once you start to think like an astrologer and look at the couples who know whose relationships are long lasting, chances are most of them are unions based on elemental similarity. Most people tend to pair up either with others whose Sun is in the same element or its most compatible element: Fire-Air; Earth-Water. Of course, Sun signs are not absolute indicators of personality and therefore Sun sign compatibility should be considered a set of general guidelines, rather than absolute astrology rules of attraction. Previously on Premium Astrology, we looked at the zodiac compatibility for Aries through Virgo, this time we look at which signs the last half of the zodiac tends to choose.
Libra
Libras frequently end up with people from air and fire signs, especially Gemini, Leo, Sagittarius and Aquarius. Unless there are other points of harmony in their charts, Libras tend not to find Cancers and Capricorns attractive. Their opposite sign of Aries is only appealing to them if both sides appreciate how they complement each other.
Scorpio
Scorpios often have long-term relationships with people whose energy is predominantly earth or water: Pisces, Cancer, Capricorn and Virgo. The exception is their opposite sign of Taurus, who seems to slow to most Scorpios. Scorpio people also tend to be skeptical of most Aquarians and Leos.
Sagittarius
Sagittarius looks for people with energy and confidence, with Aries and Leo being most likely to fit the bill. They also appreciate the communication skills of Libra and Aquarius. Most Sag individuals just don’t get the Virgo or Pisces approach to the world. This is one instance where opposites may attract as Gemini and Sag have been known to have lasting relationships. When a Sag-Gemini relationship fails, it is usually a combination of the Gemini’s dishonesty and the Sagittarian tendency towards judgment.
Capricorn
The most frequently chosen mates among Capricorns tend to be: Taurus, Virgo, Scorpio and Pisces. Marriages between Capricorn and Aries or Libra occur more rarely. Capricorn and its opposite sign of Cancer usually do not have a hard time seeing how they can complement rather than argue with each other.
Aquarius
Aquarius folks tend to find earth and water signs too clingy, limiting the Aquarian taste for freedom and exploration. Therefore they prefer mates of the Aries, Gemini, Libra or Sagittarius persuasions. Usually Aquarius and Leo people cannot see eye-to-eye, although other chart factors may mitigate this.
Pisces
Pisces can project a dreamy aura of romance on to almost anyone who knows how to say the right romantic words. However, their most frequent long-term unions are with Taurus, Cancer, Scorpio or Capricorn. They usually find Gemini and Sagittarius too cerebral. A Virgo-Pisces romance only works if one or both partners appreciate the qualities of its opposite sign.
